The California Automobile Museum, located on the banks of the Sacramento River in the shadow of Old Town, currently has two exhibits running that feature:
No Job Too Big: From taxi cabs to tow trucks and police cars. Commercial vehicles are part of our daily lives and we owe a special tribute to their hard work (runs through September 9)
Citroën: Icône française: Citroën, especially the legendary Traction Avant, 2CV, and DS Models, have long been the go-to cars for artists, film directors, writers, and others wishing to immediately connect their work with global conceptions of French culture. Citroën: Icône française will link these works to the cars to explore how the innovative engineering and ingenious marketing initiated by company founder André-Gustave Citroën built his legend. (runs through July 29).
The Museum displays vehicles of all makes and models, creating a broad story of the automobile through history and its recent name change reflects the expanded mission it has grown into over the last 25 years, which is to educate and entertain while preserving and promoting the automobile and its influence on our lives. Many of the cars are set off in eye-catching displays, as a place to educate people about cars; to tell the story of the development of the automobile and its effect on our lives. The California Vehicle Foundation currently owns approximately 25% of the vehicles and the rest are displayed by private exhibitors. Some of the cars are on loan for a month and some for five years, so the display is a constantly changing exhibit of rolling stock.
Don’t delay; get this hot summer deal from the California Automobile Museum today!
